There, shaped into sturdy wine-barrel staves, it spent the better part of a hundred years at the Aygezard Wine and Brandy Factory.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe factory eventually closed. But the wood wasn't quite finished with its adventures.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eWe stumbled across it in a forgotten corner of a disused knitting factory, deep in Armenia's Vayots Dzor province. Not exactly where you'd expect to find the beginnings of a fashion accessory.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThen came Norayr.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eWounded while serving in Armenia's armed forces, Norayr lost the use of his legs. Undeterred, he retrained as a skilled woodworker. Working with Zinvori Tun, we joined forces with him to establish production of our distinctive curved wooden buckles.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eAnd what better material to work with than this remarkable old oak?\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eColoured by time, enriched by its natural grain and bearing the unmistakable character of decades spent holding Armenian wine, these buckles are among the most beautiful we've made.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eNo two are quite alike.
